In Proyectos Monclova, Evocaciones escultóricas, by Manuel Felguérez, and Imágenes interrumpidas, by the Uruguayan Guillermo García Cruz, construct another dialogue.
Separated by generations, both artists approach abstraction from entirely different perspectives. In Felguérez, geometry has weight, substance, and history; in García Cruz, it is fragmented and seems to approach the visual language of our present.
They don't need to belong to the same generation to understand each other. Perhaps that was precisely what made watching them together so interesting.
