This photographic exhibition recovers the archive of the Hungarian photographer, to reconstruct her creative process and show how her images were incorporated into publications and editorial projects, allowing Horna to be recognized through 93 photographs, as an essential figure of 20th century Mexican culture.
Born in Hungary in 1912, Katy Horna trained in Berlin and Paris, where she was exposed to the artistic avant-garde of her time. After documenting the Spanish Civil War, she arrived in Mexico in 1939, where she developed an extensive career as a photographer and visual editor.
Esta exposición fotográfica recupera el archivo de la fotógrafa húngara, para reconstruir su proceso creativo y mostrar cómo sus imágenes se incorporaron a publicaciones y proyectos editoriales, permitiendo reconocer a Horna a través de 93 fotografías, como una figura esencial de la cultura mexicana del siglo XX.
Nacida en Hungría en 1912, Katy Horna se formó en Berlín y París estando en contacto con las vanguardias artísticas de su época. Tras documentar la Guerra Civil Española, llegó a México en 1939, donde desarrolló una amplia trayectoria como fotógrafa y editora visual.
